+Future Cavalier leads Bethel past Menchville
Bethel improved to 5-3 on the season after beating Menchville 42 to 14. The Bruins got a huge game from Rijo Walker, who will play his college ball at the University of Virginia.

+2009-10 NBA preview: New York Knicks
It may be kind of hard to rebuild a team in New York City because the fans are so impatient for a winner. However this may be a very long year for Knicks fans since it seems this team is intent of giving away the coming NBA season to strike it rich in the Free Agent market of 2010. They have been cutting payroll and hope to clear enough space to land Lebron James, or Chris Bosh, or Dwayne Wade. The New York Yankees did land CC Sabathia, Mark Teixeira, and AJ Burnett all in one off season, might the Knicks try to do the same?

+Is it time for Sam Bradford to end his College career?
Sam Bradford may have made a huge mistake. Had he left College last year, after his junior season, he would have been a top ten draft pick. Many believe that he would have been the overall number one pick and could be making 42 million dollars this year playing QB for the Detroit Lions. Instead Bradford wanted to come back for his senior season with Oklahoma. He wanted to try to win a second Heisman trophy, and he wanted to lead his team to a National Championship. Now that all of the goals are gone, it is time for Bradford to retire from college football, and preserve what is left of his draft stock.

+Olympic flame for Vancouver Games lit in Greece

+Is it pine time for these six NFL QB's?
As we approach the halfway mark of the 2009 NFL season, several teams have questions at Quarterback, now their Coaches must decide if it is, time for a change at that position. Here is a look at six NFL QB's, who may soon be benched:

+Tennis authorities looking into Wozniacki match
Tennis authorities are looking into a WTA Tour match involving U.S. Open finalist Caroline Wozniacki that apparently sparked bettors to pile money on her opponent when she was on the verge of losing in straight sets.

    +Olympic flame for Vancouver lit
The flame for the Vancouver Olympics was successfully lit by the sun's rays in an ancient ceremony Thursday, heralding the start of the torch relay for the 2010 Winter Games.

+2009 MLB season in review: Milwaukee Brewers
After making the playoffs in 2008, for the first time since 1982, it seemed the bar had finally been raised for the Milwaukee Brewers. It seems that simply finishing .500 was no longer the goal, and that this was a team headed to the playoffs or bust. While sluggers Ryan Braun and Prince Fielder had exceptional, special season, everything else about the Brewer was a big disappointment. In late July they had a two game lead in the National League Central, their pitching woes finally caught up to them. The Brewers obviously needed CC Sabathia and Ben Sheets down the stretch, letting those two players go really cost this team.

    +2009-10 NBA preview: Memphis Grizzlies
The Memphis Grizzlies have spent many years spinning their wheels. Over the last three years they have the worst combined record in the NBA at 68-178, they finished second to last in 2008-09 in home attendance, and in the second year of their latest three year master plan the ended up firing their coach. They finished last year with a 24-58 record, and while things seems very dark there may be reason to hope. Of course that was before this team added disgruntled NBA stars Zach Randolph and Allen Iverson in the off season.

    +Jay Cutler gets contract extension
Clearly Jay Cutler has made the Chicago Bears better, but he really hasn't proven that he is the reason they are as improved yet. With that in mind the decision by the Bears to extend him two years for a pretty significant amount of money seems a little premature. Let us not forget that Cutler's old team, with Chicago's old QB are 6-0 and headed toward the Super Bowl, while it seems the Bears are destined for a wild card playoff game they might not be able to win. The simple fact here it seems the Bears jumped the gun a little by signing this deal.

    +NFL trade deadline has passed
The NFL Trade has come and gone, and all though there were a lot of rumors this year about a lot of players wanting to be moved there was little to no actions. The real problem here is the NFL trade deadline is far too early in the season. At this point in the season we really only know who the really bad teams are, and these teams usually do not have any one worth trading a draft pick for. More simply at the mid point of October, not enough NFL team are out of it so they hang on to their players thinking they can still make a run at the playoffs.

    +Bedard is Ballin'
Journal Sentinel beat writer Greg Bedard discusses what Ahman Green can add to the Packers, the state of the offensive line and A.J. Hawk's diminished role with TODAY'S TMJ4' Rod Burks.
